Chris and I are both Native Nashvillians. Our paths were bound to cross at some point. We were Sophomores at Whites Creek High School assigned to the same boring Algebra Class. One day, Chris passed me a hand written letter which simply read WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND? YES or NO Back then, even young men, knew the importance of courting a woman. Needless to say, I checked the YES box, at which point a wonderful and most treasured friendship ensued. We had no way of knowing that our innocent teenage experience would one day lead to LOVE EVERLASTING.
Chris was driving to the same restaurant that we had celebrated Valentine's Day the year prior. I asked Baby, why are we going back to Olive Garden? He said hold on, I got something for you. (Better be good) We entered OG and Chris asks for a booth, (which he never does) or a table somewhere private perhaps in a corner. (Antennas go up) Finally, we’re seated and I notice that the romance was real thick - far more intense than usual. Next thing I know, my guy pulls out a ring box, gets down on one knee, and words began to flow from his lips. (Totally in shock) The room goes completely silent. I see his lips moving and the nervous look on his face, yet all I remember is him asking Baby, will you marry me? Are you kidding me? YES (You had me at Hello!) The entire room erupted with applause and well wishes! In the midst of all the excitement, we lost our appetite! Chris then asks for the check and to our surprise, another patron had already taken care of it! Olive Garden ended up being not so bad afterall. Well done, My Forever Love!
