FAQs

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Given the weekend-long nature of the celebration, we kindly ask that guests RSVP as soon as they’re able. If you’re unable to attend, we’d especially appreciate knowing as early as possible. Please respond no later than June 1st.

Question

How do I select my specific lodging?

Answer

By sending back your RSVP! Lauren and Matthew will be coordinating lodging for all guests: we will thoughtfully assign cabins and share booking details with you directly. This includes both on-island and off-island lodging. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or specific requests!

Question

I want to stay longer! How does that work?

Answer

While the exclusive island buy-out only applies to the weekend (Friday-Sunday) Lauren, Matthew, and their families will be extending their stay on Stout's Island. Anyone who is interested in a prolonged weekend at the lake is welcome to join us! Please submit your RSVP and wait for your direct booking link, to be provided by the bride and groom, and then call Stout's Island to book. When making your reservation, you will be able to extend your stay and add additional days as desired. Please note that you will be charged full price for any additional days you choose to include.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Pack for a relaxed cabin weekend on the lake. September can be unpredictable in the midwest, so we recommend both a swimsuit and hoodie! Welcome Dinner: Casual. The bride and groom will be dressed up, but please wear whatever you’re most comfortable in! Ceremony & Reception: Cocktail Attire. As a special request from the bride, florals are warmly encouraged — we’d love to see you in them if you’re comfortable!

Question

Are my kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids! That said, we’ve chosen to make our wedding primarily adults-only due to guest count constraints. If childcare is a challenge—especially for families with very young children—please reach out to Lauren or Matt. We’re happy to be flexible in certain situations and would much rather you join us with your children than not attend at all. However, we do ask that you explore childcare options first when possible.

Question

How's the weather?

Answer

Wisconsin weather in September transitions from summer to fall. We're hoping for warm, sunny days with highs in the mid-60s and 70s: perfect conditions for outdoor activities. Expect evenings to get noticeably cooler, making layers and bonfires a good idea.
