New Year's Eve in 2016 was a good time at Brooklyn Boulders in Somerville, MA. It was a 1920s-themed party with exhibit rooms, Gatsby-style costumes, and actors portraying artists of the era, creating an immersive theatrical experience. It's no surprise that Johnny was one of these actors, spending his New Year's Eve at a gig. At the end of the night, when the work was done and the countdown was over, the actors took some time to relax and play music on the floor. 2016 was the year of Hamilton, so it was only a matter of time before a group rendition of "Satisfied" began. Meanwhile, Sylvia was attending the party as a guest with her cousin (Lorraine Damerau), who immediately noticed what appeared to be a rap battle underway and joined the pack. Following her cousin, Sylvia was relieved to discover no spitting game was required. Johnny noticed Sylvia as soon as she showed up. ♫ "The conversation lasted two minutes, maybe three minutes Everything we said in total agreement It's a dream and it's a bit of a dance A bit of a posture, it's a bit of a stance He's a bit of a flirt but I'mma give him a chance". ♫ This initial spark led to a date in Boston, a year and a half of long-distance between NYC and Boston, our first international trip (Iceland), countless family parties, and an incredibly loving and joyous relationship. Almost 10 years later, they decided it should be for life. ♫ "To the groom! To the groom! To the groom! To the bride! To the bride! To the bride!" ♫
