The First Bloom: Our Mehndi Garden Party

6:30 pm

Dress for a night in the garden! We invite you to wear traditional attire in Soft Pastel tones. We encourage you to embrace the garden spirit with light, airy colours that complement our setting.

We invite you to step into a world of color and connection as we compose the first chapter of our wedding story. "The First Bloom" is a celebration of growth and artistry, centered around the traditional Mehndi ceremony. As intricate henna designs—symbols of joy, luck, and the deep roots of our families—are hand-painted, we welcome you to enjoy an evening of music and motion. This night is dedicated to the "Harmony" of our two worlds coming together for the first time in an atmosphere of festive warmth. Wander through our garden of soft colors, savor the first tastes of our celebration, and join us in a spirited kickoff to the journey ahead. We cannot wait to see these two families become one under the evening stars.

The Gilded Glow: An Evening of Haldi & Purification

6:00 pm

Dress to glow! We invite you to wear traditional attire in shades of Yellow and Gold to match the festive spirit of the event. We encourage you to embrace the "radiance of roots" theme. Please note that as we will be using traditional turmeric paste during the ceremony, we suggest wearing fabrics that are easy to clean or specifically intended for this ritual.

As we approach the threshold of our wedding day, we invite you to an evening bathed in light and laughter. "The Gilded Glow" is a soulful celebration centred around the traditional Haldi ceremony—a sacred ritual of preparation. Together, we will apply a vibrant turmeric paste, symbolizing the brightening of the spirit and a radiant new beginning. This intimate gathering is a time for shared blessings, ancestral songs, and the joyful "Sapatia" tradition to invite good luck. Set against a backdrop of sun-drenched yellow, this ceremony prepares our hearts (and our "glow!") for the grand union to follow. Join us for a dinner and an evening of golden memories with our closest circle as we honour our shared heritage.

A Sip of Gratitude: The Ancestral Tea Ceremony

10:00 am

Dress for a timeless tradition! We invite you to wear formal or traditional attire in elegant, neutral, or soft tones. We encourage you to embrace the grace of the event that reflect the significance of this heritage ceremony. In honouring tradition, we kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing red.

Before we exchange our vows, we invite you to witness a centuries-old tradition that honours the roots from which we grew. The Chinese Tea Ceremony is a beautiful ritual of respect, where we offer tea to our parents and elders as a formal "thank you" for their sacrifice, love, and wisdom. This intimate morning gathering serves as the formal introduction of Zoheb into the Li family and Emmelyne into the Merchant family. It is a moment of quiet reflection and deep connection, symbolizing the merging of our heritages. Join us for this soulful start to our Big Day as we receive the blessings of our elders and prepare to step into our future together. Light morning refreshments and traditional tea will be served.

Two Hearts, Two Cultures: One Family

7:00 pm

Dress to celebrate in elegance! We invite you to celebrate in your favorite Formal or Traditional attire. To complement our wedding colors, we kindly suggest shades of Emerald, Navy, or Gold. We respectfully ask that guests avoid wearing Plum or Cream/Beige tones, as these colors are reserved for the bride and groom.

The journey that began in Mumbai and Penang now finds its home here in Toronto. We invite you to the pinnacle of our celebration: a soulful union featuring our civil ceremony. Following the exchange of vows, the evening transforms into a grand reception—a vibrant tapestry of soulful music, exquisite fusion cuisine, and the joy of our closest family and friends. As we celebrate the start of our forever, we look forward to sharing our narrative story with you and dancing the night away. We are so honoured to have you by our side as we officially become one. We cannot wait to celebrate this milestone in your company, surrounded by the love that has guided us to this very moment.
