What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is black tie.

Is the wedding ceremony outside?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony will take place outdoors. The ceremony and reception space is a mix of grass and soapstone; please choose shoes accordingly. Dinner will be served under an outdoor tent with a view of the lake. Guests will also have access to the Taughannock Inn.

If it rains, the ceremony will be moved under the outdoor tent at the venue.

Do I have to attend every event?

Answer

Not at all! We are planning events throughout the wedding weekend for guests staying in town for the holiday. If you're free, we'd love for you to join us!

How can I book a hotel reservation?

Answer

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Ithaca Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn) for your convenience. If you prefer other accommodations, several well-known hotel chains are within walking distance. You can find a list of these nearby hotels, along with their locations, on our website. Downtown Airbnbs are also a great option if you’re looking for something more private or unique.

Will transportation be provided to and from the venue?

Yes, we will be providing buses from the Ithaca Commons downtown to and from the wedding venue. More details will be shared on our website closer to the date.

Answer

The venue is about a 15-minute drive from our recommended hotel locations.

Yes, parking will be available onsite.

How do I get around Ithaca?

Answer

- Uber and Lyft are available, though service is limited. - The local taxi company can be reached at 607-277-7777. - Ithaca Carshare, similar to Turo, is also available if you'd like to rent a car for a more extended stay. - TCAT is the local bus service. You can download their app (Tfare, Ithaca, NY, TCAT) for tap-to-pay fares. Or they take cash, $1.50 per ride for adults, $0.75 for seniors, and children under 17 ride for free. - Ithaca Bikeshare, a pedal-assist bike that costs $1.50 to unlock + $0.25 per minute or $25 per day. Just download the Ithaca Bikeshare app to get started.

Answer

Yes, Ithaca is generally safe, and the Ithaca Commons is a safe place to walk around at night.

What will the temperature be in Ithaca in August?

Answer

In August, you can expect highs around 80°F and lows around 60°F. Rain is always a possibility, so we recommend packing a light raincoat and weather-appropriate shoes just in case.

What should I pack?

Answer

If you're planning to stay with us for the weekend, we recommend bringing: Comfortable shoes (especially if you’d like to join us on our hiking adventure) and water shoes! Swimsuits (Gorge and the lake are all swimming friendly in designated areas) Sunglasses Hat Raincoat Sunscreen Bug repellant Now, if you forget any of these items or feel the need to pick something up while in Ithaca, the commons has multiple outdoor and convenience stores for you to choose from. We also have our beloved Wegmans, which is about a 5-minute drive off the commons.

Where can I buy alcohol, beer, or wine?

Answer

There is a wine and spirits store just off the commons called Sam’s Wine and Spirits. If you are looking for cultivated wine, there is a store on the commons called The Cellar d’Or Wine, Cider & Spirits. If you're looking for beer, seltzer, or cider, there's a store on the commons called Common’s Market Convenience Store.

Where should I go for breakfast?

Answer

Most hotels downtown have a breakfast area associated with them, but if you feel like stepping out of the hotel, there are a few options downtown. CTB/Ithaca Bakery: CTB, also known as CollegeTown Bagels, is a bagel chain with multiple locations in Ithaca and surrounding towns. They are locally owned and run and have every bagel and topping option you could imagine. They also offer other snacks, coffee, juices, and more.
