The dress code is semi-formal.

What is the weather like?

Answer

During the summer months, daytime highs usually hover around 23°C (74°F) and nights cool down to about 15°C (60°F). However, some days can get quite warm, around 30°C (86°F). We recommend that guests dress in layers and be prepared for a variety of temperatures.

Is there transportation to and from the wedding?

Answer

Yes! There will be transportation provided from The Simon hotel in downtown Sydney to the wedding venue at Ager Lane. More info to come.

Do I have to use the provided transportation?

Answer

Are there hotel blocks?

Answer

Yes! There are rooms blocked at The Simon Hotel. Please see the "Travel" tab for more information.

What if I do not want to stay at The Simon Hotel?

Answer

That is totally okay! Please feel free to stay wherever you feel most comfortable. Just note that the shuttle services will operate from The Simon.

Will the Wedding be Indoors or Outdoors

Answer

Ager Lane is a flower farm. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside, weather permitting, and the reception will be hosted in the barn facility. If there is rain, the wedding will be held entirely in the barn.

Is there parking at the hotel and wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, both The Simon Hotel and Ager Lane have free parking for guests.

What is the best airport to use?

Answer

The J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport is smaller, but only 20 minutes from downtown Sydney, NS. The Halifax Stanfield International Airport is larger, but it is approximately 4 hours from the venue and would require a car rental. This is a great option if you are hoping to travel around the East Coast. If you are planning to make a trip out of it, please feel free to reach out for more places to go outside of Cape Breton.

Yes! Children are welcome. They will be explicitly listed when you RSVP.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Guests do not have to pay for their drinks. An assortment of beer, a white wine, and a red wine option will be provided, as well as non-alcoholic options.

We do not expect gifts. Please just bring yourselves and be ready to have a fun weekend!
