We met at Georgetown University in late 2013 through mutual friends. I remember that night/ meeting so vividly, almost like it was yesterday. Mitchell was studying in his dorm room for an exam the next day, I can still see the image of him sitting at the desk in his glasses (looking very handsome). My first thoughts- he has the perfect smile, one that just captivates you, he had the cutest accent & just the most beautiful demeanour- that Midwestern gentleman personality! I knew I needed to get to know him more or at least hopefully see him again.. don't worry I saw him again & our first date was at Farmer Fishers Bakers by the waterfront!

Truly picturesque & perfect in every way! The day before the big "will you…" moment was my (Zoe's) 25th birthday. We were in Hawaii on what was already shaping up to be the best vacation ever. Mitch had organised a beach photoshoot for the next morning at sunrise as part of my birthday gift- the perfect plan & decoy to pull of the big proposal... until an incoming storm nearly derailed the whole plan! Between consulting Mr Auer & his weather forecasting systems & communicating non stop with the photographer we decided to not let the potential weather get in the way of what I thought was a cute couples shoot. We ended up making our way to a remote locals beach on the other side of the island called "Makapuu Beach." It was like a postcard, just magical. Half way through the shoot the photographer suggested we take solo shots, as I posed Mitch snuck away & grabbed the ring & right in front of the crashing waves on the rocks of Makapuu I was told to turn around & there he was, my best friend, down on one knee with the open box in hand. I still remember exactly what he said but Ill keep that special between us! Everyone asks- did I see it coming. I have to be honest, a part of me wanted to believe this might happen on the trip, but being the superstitious person I am I didn't want to think too much about it! So right there in Hawaii, after my 25th birthday I got engaged to my best friend & soulmate. Of course the rest of the shoot we were on cloud nine & I had way too much fun posing with my STUNNING ring. It will go down in history as one of the best days of our lives. Way to go Mitch!!!
