How We Met

We met through a mutual friend the summer before our senior year of high school. I (Zoe) had just gotten back from a trip to England, and my friend suggested we meet at Portillo's the day after I got back so I could meet his new friends. Jack was there, and we immediately hit it off. It wasn't until January, though (Edgar Allan Poe's birthday, to be exact!) that he invited me over for a movie day, where he offered to watch my favorite movie, Back to the Future. We kissed after the end credits and have been together ever since.

How We Got Engaged

We'd taken a trip to New York with close friends and spent a few days wandering the city, visiting museums and walking Central Park. We'd made it a point to go to a variety of bookstores throughout the city -- some highlights included Sweet Pickle Books, Books Are Magic, and of course, the Ripped Bodice (a romance bookstore). When we reached the Ripped Bodice, I spent some time wandering and looking for books, but Jack and our friends made their way to the back of the store. Once I made it to where they were, Jack pulled a book off the shelf called "The Book Proposal," opened it to pull a ring from its pages, got down on one knee, and proposed!
