Alaska Airlines

Alaska has incredible deals on flights to Honolulu, they are our go-to. They also have a companion fare deal if you get their credit card (buy one flight, get the other for just the taxes and fees). Hawaiian Airlines and Delta also offer a lot of different flight times and run specials throughout the year.

Rental Car

Rental cars are a good idea....

Public transportation is great on the island (Lyft and Uber are everywhere as well, and not expensive) but it is super nice to have your own ride. Most large hotels are in town (Honolulu and Waikiki), so if you choose to stay there a car will give you flexibility. Not necessary though.

Airbnb

There are whispers of laws against Airbnb in Oahu, but the fines and penalties would only affect the landlords, not you. You may have to jump through a couple more hoops but this is definitely the best way to be close to us, the activities, and our favorite beaches. I am happy to help if you need!

Hale Koa Hotel

The Hale Koa is an amazing spot (where we lived for a month before finding our rental) for active duty and veterans. Service members can also sponsor civilians. It is about 35 minute drive from our place and where the celebration will occur, but Ubers and Lyft are great. They also offer an easy rental car service though the Hale Koa.
