Picture this: January 2023, Oahu. Zak’s back from family Christmas in Illinois, ready to swipe, his thumb practically calloused being the Hinge veteran he is. Zizi, fresh off the plane from California for a new travel nurse gig, is game for some Hinge action on the island. Their profiles match, and Zak pitches an 8 AM coffee date—bold move for a Monday. Zizi, intrigued by this fellow Midwesterner (and his LinkedIn that she scoped), says yes. Over coffee, they talk for hours. Zizi lets slip her LinkedIn detective work, but plays it off flawlessly. Zak had another Hinge date lined up for that afternoon but ditched it post-Zizi (no contest). The next day, Zak tests Zizi’s grit with the Koko Head staircase—a sweaty, 1,000-step gauntlet. She crushes it, completing one of the many physical tests Zak will put her through during the course of their relationship (ask Zizi about the "death hike"). By their third date, Zizi was certain Zak was her future husband. Zak tried to play it cool (he’s not), but he knew Zizi was the one. From then on, they were inseparable. Flash forward to November 2024, Zak popped the question on the island of Lanai, their last Hawaiian island to check off the list. Now, we’re excited to trade Hawaii's sandy beaches for Wyoming’s mountains at our Jackson Hole wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all under the Tetons!
