Her Version

"His mom did WHAT?!"

The way we met is one of the most interesting stories you will ever hear. Ashlee had been living in New York City for almost 2 years, in the Spring of 2017. During the day, she was an executive assistant at a law firm. At night, she would bartend at a cocktail lounge. One evening, Jason's mother was having drinks with a couple of her friends. It was a week night, and the lounge was dead. Ashlee started conversing with the women (who were SO sweet), and one of them named Lily started asking Ashlee about her life story. Lily then proceeded to tell Ashlee about her son Jason, who was around the same age, and single. She started pulling up pictures of him, and all of her friends were exclaiming how much of a catch Jason was. Lily had taken Ashlee's phone number, and told her she was going to give it to her son, so they could connect..(Ashlee did not think it was going to really happen LOL)...

His Version

"Mom...you can't be serious."

Mom is always right! It was a Sunday morning, Jason was studying for his law school exam later that week, when his mother came into his room and handed him a note. Before he could ask what it was, she exclaimed that she had met the most beautiful and lovely girl a few nights before and had gotten her number for him. Jason was horrified. His immediate instinct was to shuffle her out of the room, call her overbearing, and insist the number was probably fake. However, Jason's curiosity got the best of him and he ventured to Facebook to try and find this mysterious “Ashlee.” It was pretty simple given that the number was right, Ashlee was real, and that they even had some mutual friends. It was after this crazy stroke of luck that Jason asked her out to dinner. They met the following Tuesday at a restaurant in Manhattan. The evening was full of pickle back shots, Mexican food, and intense conversations that ranged from the possibility of aliens (definitely), to politics and religion (basically everything that should be avoided on a first date). Before they knew it, it was 2AM and the restaurant was closing. As Jason took a cab home that night, he knew that he had met the woman of his dreams and immediately texted Ashlee for a second date. The rest is history. And with that, the once reluctant Jason is now the first to admit that his Mom has never been more right.
