Our Genesis

Built with intention, sealed with joy

We met in the fall of 2023 through our friend Lucy. I would occasionally stop by Lucy’s Bible study at the apartment she shared with Qua, and what began as casual run-ins slowly turned into meaningful conversation. At the time, neither of us was searching for a relationship—we were simply focused on growing in our faith and serving where we were planted. As we spent more time together, our shared love for God created space for deeper connection. One evening, a simple check-in opened the door to honest conversation and encouragement, and that moment lingered. From there, we continued learning about each other’s stories, values, and the ways God had shaped our lives. In April 2024, a weekend trip to Anna Maria Island with friends brought clarity to what was already growing. After that weekend, it became clear that God was doing something neither of us had planned. We moved forward intentionally—having thoughtful conversations about faith, life, and boundaries, and building a foundation rooted in trust and purpose. Our first official date was June 7, 2024, and as our relationship continued to grow, clarity followed. On July 10, 2024, I asked Qua to be my girlfriend, marking the beginning of a season defined by purpose, commitment, and growth. As our relationship deepened, we started going to church together and growing in community and faith side by side. We became part of each other’s everyday lives—meeting families, celebrating birthdays just days apart, and sharing holidays and milestones. What started with two people focused on God became a partnership grounded in faith, intentionality, and love. By the beginning of 2025, I knew I wanted to spend my life with Qua. After receiving her father’s blessing in the summer, the plan was set in motion. On October 11, 2025, I got down on one knee and asked Qua to marry me—and she said yes. To be continued…
