Maid of Honor
Zhané and I have been best friends since freshman year of college, when I walked up to her in the cafeteria and basically assigned myself the role—and we’ve been locked in ever since. From legendary dance floors to inside jokes that need no explanation, she’s my go-to for laughter, adventures, and hyping each other up like it’s our job. Being her Maid of Honor is the easiest yes ever, and I can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with tears, champagne, and a whole lot of dancing.
Best Man
I've known Michael my whole life. He is my big brother, and honestly the best brother anyone could ever have. He taught me a lot of things which I am very grateful for. As a kid, he taught me how to ride a bicycle and as a teenager he taught me how to drive. I also learnt about soccer through him even though I was always terrible at it. Haha! He is responsible, courageous, brave, and an overall great role model. And I am glad he found his missing rib (Zhané)

Zhané and I met on the school bus in the 5th grade and have been friends ever since. It has been beautiful to see our friendship grow from the countless sleepovers, getting in trouble in class from laughing too much, to adulthood matrimony and motherhood. I am so happy to be apart of this beautiful union and I can’t wait to see all that God has in store for the Obasi family.
Groomsman
I met Michael at MRU during open studies, my first semester and we hit it off mostly because of our shared love for football and Chelsea fc (our current source of frustration). At the time, we also found out we lived in the same neighborhood when we ran into each other on the way to catch bus 301 on Centre Street Calgary. We also connected through FIFA, which I’ve been the most prolific of us two. Michael is one of the most down to earth people I’ve met with a heart of gold. Very argumentative but fair, very competitive but respectful.
Bridesmaid
I met Zhané on the first day of senior year of high school after transferring to a new school where I didn’t know a single person. From our very first conversation, we clicked instantly and became thick as thieves, always having each other’s backs. She’s the kind of friend who keeps it real, never takes herself too seriously, and goes after whatever she sets her mind to. I couldn’t be more honored to stand by her side on her big day!

Emeka and I met in 2009 on the MRU campus, and we’ve been good friends since then. From riding the bus together as undergraduates to riding in our first cars together and then playing soccer together for 12 years. Emeka is very dependable and steadfast. Never change, bro. Congrats to you guys, I’m very honored to be a part of your celebration and can’t wait to meet lil man and turn up with y’all!!

I met Zhané about 5 years ago at work. What a blessing! We started out as coworkers and now we are closer than ever, and I can wholeheartedly call her my friend. I’m so honored to be a bridesmaid and witness this beautiful union!
Groomsman
I met Michael at a young age of 1 day old and he made sure to teach me discipline since then. He’s been a brother and second dad to me and that was confusing because sometimes I want a brother to complain about a dad to but it’s hard when the person you want to complain about is the person you want to complain to haha. One things for sure he’s been a good role model of what to do in my life. Just so happens I’m a curious man so I went towards what not to do to learn both sides of the story.
Bridesmaid
From the moment Zhané and I met through mutual friends, I knew that she was my kind of girl. She’s just goofy and full of life. I love when she sings “HELLO” on the phone. She has been making my life brighter for the last decade.

I met Emeka actually through a friend of mine called lapalelego (Muna) and man what a blessing it’s been to be call Emeka a friend for over a decade! He is as good as it gets! Honest, trustworthy, hard worker and a great guy overall. Zhané has really got one of them ones in Emeka! I really miss my guy being in Calgary! Happy for you both and looking forward to seeing you soon!

I’ve known Zhané since our first job out of college, at EY. She’s been a friend I can laugh with, depend on and look up to. I’m elated that Zhané gets to spend the rest of her life with a man that is a perfect match and brings out the best in her. Can’t wait to be a part of their big day!

I met Michael in University, and he's been one of my best friends ever since. We give each other advice, and are there to support each other when needed. Happy to see him getting married!

I've been friends with Zhané for years. I'm so happy to be apart of this union. I'm so excited for the wedding! Cheers! 💗

I met Michael while playing soccer in 2017. It wasn’t until we became roommates that we truly became close friends. To me, he’s always been more like a brother than a friend. My fitness journey wouldn’t have happened without his persistent encouragement to join me at the gym. He deserves all the good things in life because he’s a genuine person. To Zhané, you have an incredible partner, and I wish you two the best life and love can offer.

When my brother Michael came back from a trip to Atlanta, he couldn’t stop smiling. It didn’t take long before I learned why—he had met someone special. He showed me a photo of Zhane, and the way he talked about her, I knew she was different. At first, it took some time for us to connect, especially with the distance. But Zhane has a way of making you feel welcome, like you’ve known her forever. Over time, she became more than just my brother’s partner—she became a true friend, and someone I now proudly call a sister. Her laughter is contagious, her stories are captivating, and her heart is full. I’m so lucky to have her in my life.
Groomsman
I first heard about Emeka back in high school in Nigeria—his name was everywhere because all the boys couldn’t stop talking about how incredible he was at soccer. But by the time I started attending the school, he had already moved to another city, so we never actually met. Fast forward to Canada, and fate finally brought us together. From the moment we connected, we became more than just friends—until, of course, Zhane came along and stole him from us! They literally abandoned us in Canada (but hey, no hard feelings… maybe just a little!). All jokes aside, they say, “Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing and a blessing,” and I truly believe that for Emeka. Wishing my brother nothing but love, joy, and endless blessings on this beautiful journey of marriage!
