FAQs

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

You will need to RSVP and reserve your room at Hotel David Whitney by April 10th, 2026.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

As noted under the "Travel" tab, a room block has been reserved at Hotel David Whitney. Guests are, of course, more than welcome to stay anywhere in Detroit - there are plenty of wonderful options nearby!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We kindly ask our guests to dress in formal attire for our wedding. For women, this means elegant ankle or floor-length dresses, pant suits, or jumpsuits. For men, a suit paired with a tie. Please be aware that short dresses, athletic wear, polos, jeans, khakis, and/or sneakers of any kind is not appropriate attire for the ceremony and dinner. Both the ceremony and dinner will be held indoors, so please dress accordingly. For those joining us afterward, you are welcome to change outfits. Whether you choose something more comfortable, keeping at least cocktail attire, or stick with your formal look, it’s completely up to you.

Question

What time do I need to be there?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. To ensure you have enough time to be seated and settle in, please plan to arrive by 4:00 pm.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Valet parking will be available at the hotel, with in and out access, for your convenience (vehicles cannot be more than 6ft). $25 per car for event-only parking $52 per car per night if you're staying overnight at the hotel If you prefer not to pay the parking fee at the hotel, you're welcome to find nearby parking accommodations. Parking at the church is available in the back parking lot only, and the entrance is on Canfield Avenue. Please do not park at the Senior Citizen apartment lot on Russell across from the church; they will have cars towed.

Question

Can I take photos and videos?

Answer

To ensure our photographers can get the best shots without distractions, we kindly ask that guests refrain from using their phones for photos, especially during the ceremony! We know you’ll want to capture the moment, but we’ve got it covered! There will be plenty of time to take your own pictures after the ceremony.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our celebration, we kindly ask that only those listed on the invitation attend. When you go to RSVP, the website will confirm the details of those on the guest list. We appreciate your understanding and support in keeping our day personal and special.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, we’ve made the decision to have an adult-only ceremony and reception. We hope this provides you with a chance to enjoy a well-deserved date night and thank you for making any necessary arrangements in advance.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We’ve decided to opt out of a traditional registry as we’re still living in two states and aren’t quite sure what our new home will need when we finally live together. Instead, we would be truly grateful for monetary gifts, which will help us as we start this exciting new chapter and settle into our future home.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We’re excited to offer an open bar during the cocktail hour and dinner, so feel free to enjoy your favorite drinks as we celebrate together! Don't stress, we will also have the party bus stocked with beer and seltzers.

Question

Who can I contact with additional questions?

Answer

If you have any additional questions or need more information, please feel free to reach out to either the bride, Sarah, or the groom, KC. If KC is your point of contact, he will be sure to check in with Sarah for any details!
