Looking for a place to taste some Virginia wine and enjoy an excellent view? Try this place. We're partial to the Tempranillo, the Rose, or the LoCo Vino.
This is a quirky little spot that we'd recommend for the cider, the atmosphere, and the proprietor (Kent). This is not much of a winery per se, but if you've been to a million wineries and want to try something new and unique, this is definitely the spot.
This place is also absolutely beautiful and makes some lovely wines. Be warned (or promised) that this is an ADULT ONLY winery - they do not welcome children... So if you're looking for some child-free wine, this is your spot.
Full disclosure, this place is high on our list to check out, but we're recommending based on recommendation only. Supposedly the wines are quite good here... Let us know if we don't beat you there.
Wanting to do a little shopping? Check out the outlets - sort of an attraction (oddly) in Leesburg.
If you're looking for a little country in your visit to the country, this might be your spot. In an area known for its countless vineyards, here's a place for some good old fashioned, sober fun. But people love this place and you might too.
If you're looking for something a little stiffer than the vineyards, this is a fairly high producing distillery (with a small showroom). They make great rye whiskey and some bourbon and gin as well. You can check out the distilling facilities, do some tasting, and buy swag all in one stop. And it's right on a small-town Main Street if you want to take a little trip back in time.
Harper's Ferry is a great little piece of history on an absolutely stunning piece of Earth. There are restaurants and shops up and down the Main Street as well as some trails and gorgeous views of the river. At a warmer time of the year, you'd catch us rafting, kayaking, or canoeing down the river or taking a motorcycle trip through the area.
