What is the dress code?

Answer

The Dress code is formal. We apologize for the mistake on the invitation! Dark suits and long dresses are fine. The wedding will be held outside, and there will be times where you will need to walk on grass and gravel roads. The weather in the mountains at this time can be a bit chilly, so a sweater or light jacket for later in the night is also recommended.

Will the wedding be held indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be held outdoors, weather permitting.

Where do I park?

Answer

There is ample parking at Laughing Waters. The parking lot is a short hike from where the ceremony will be held, so if you need help getting there, let us know and we will provide accommodations for you. We will also provide a shuttle service to and from Asheville for the ceremony and reception.

What if I have food or dietary restrictions?

We have taken care to provide a variety of food options for our guests, including multiple vegetarian dishes. If you have a specific dietary need, please let us know and we will do our best to find an option for you.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited space, we are restricting plus ones to invitation only.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 5:45 pm. we encourage you to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony. This will allow you to find parking and make your way to the ceremony site.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you refrain from taking pictures or being on your phone during the ceremony.

Are children invited?

Answer

We would love to have your young children join us. If you plan on bringing your kids, we kindly ask that you give us a heads up so we can add them to the guest count.

Is the road to the venue closed?

Answer

The road from Asheville to both Laughing Waters the Lake Lure Inn is open, but you will see signs saying no access. They are doing this to keep unnecessary through traffic from driving through. When you're about 20 minutes out, there will be a road closed barrier but you can pass around it. Don't worry you're not breaking any rules! It's local traffic only and we are considered local for the wedding. Just follow all the traffic rules, speed limits and drive carefully and respectfully
