Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is...let's call it "fabulous casual." The most important thing is that you are safe, comfortable, and confident in your outfit. FOR SAFETY: please wear flats, wedge heels, or stacked heels. Stilettoes and other narrow heeled shoes may poke through the gaps in the floor of our barn and could cause serious injury. FOR SAFETY: If you would like to stroll around our 10 acre property, please do so! There are a ton of ticks, though, so please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants, and check yourself thoroughly before bed. Lyme disease is real and debilitating! FOR COMFORT: Please remember that it gets chilly during September in Maine! You will want to bring a sweater or sweatshirt at least for the evening. If you choose to wear a dress or skirt, tights might be a good idea. FOR CONFIDENCE: Please wear something you feel great in! Including those jeans that make your butt look amazing :) We strongly encourage you to wear either orange or purple to match with our wedding theme. FOR KIDS: Your kids should wear something they can get dirty - we have a large property that they might want to explore! We prefer happy, engaged kids with mud on their knees to miserable but beautifully dressed kids.

Question

What are we eating?

Answer

We will have a delicious chili bar catered by Angie's Comfort Kitchen, a small company based in Machias. You will have the option of beef or vegetarian chili with your favorite toppings and served over baked potatoes, hot dogs, nachos or cornbread. We will also have a few choices of wraps and salads. For dessert, since the neither of us is huge on cake, we will have a spread of cookies, brownies and other treats from Sugar & Crumbs Bakery based out of Milbridge, Maine. Please indicate your dietary restrictions on your RSVP and we will ensure you have options available to meet your needs. Nobody leaves hungry!

Question

Karaoke? Do I have to sing?

Answer

We both enjoy karaoke and want to share that joy with you. We strongly encourage you to pick a song you love and sing it with/to us, but it is not required. You are, however, required to applaud, cheer, and join any call and response songs. Especially Sweet Caroline. The night won't be complete without a little Neil Diamond.
