We first met on the dating app Bumble and hit it off pretty well in the chat. We then met not too long after for our first date at a local ice cream shop. If Allen were to describe our date, he would say it was amazing while I on the other hand felt it was awkward. I felt like I was talking too much or annoyed him, but he was listening to every word and says he enjoyed getting to know me that night. Is it horrible I did not expect any future dates when I got home? But Allen surprised me with a sweet good night and good morning message the next day and everything else just fell into place.
Last March Allen and I were planning a day trip to Wekiva Springs for the weekend. He was at my apartment at the time for lunch and planning when he got a phone call from his mother, Brigid. Mind you, at this time we had not established that we were in an exclusive relationship aka boyfriend and girlfriend. Allen put the call on speaker and his mom started saying that she was told by his aunt that he took off for my apartment and has been spending a lot of time with me. Allen then said he was at the apartment now and was planning a trip to the springs. His mother then said "well I don't want to keep you from your girlfriend then". She then commented that he has spent a lot of time with his "girlfriend". I still don't know if she knows I heard the conversation, but thanks Brigid you officially unofficially started our relationship!! Once Allen got off the phone I busted out laughing, teasing him how is it possible that his mother knew I was his girlfriend before I did. Allen's face was so red and embarrassed. So naturally to make him more embarrassed I said "well since everyone but me knows, I guess I am your girlfriend now". His excuse was that he was going to ask me officially the next day at the springs ha!
