Rocky Mountain National Park is about 50 minutes from Boulder and offers tremendous hiking and views (for those not as interested in hiking)
Estes Park is a great mountain town right near the entrance of Rocky Mountain NP. It offers tremendous views, a quaint downtown with a lot of shops and the iconic Stanley hotel where they filmed The Shining (you can even stay there if you dare)
