Things To Do

There are so many incredible places to explore in the Lake George area and beyond! Whether you’re stopping along the way or looking to extend your stay, here are some of our favorite spots and suggestions to help you plan an unforgettable trip:

Woodstock, NY

Woodstock, NY

If you’re road-tripping to the wedding, consider stopping in Woodstock—our absolute favorite upstate town! It’s full of charm, with amazing food, cozy cafes, fun bars, and eclectic local shops. The hiking here is also fantastic—check out Kaaterskill Falls and explore the stunning Catskill Mountains for some fresh air and scenic views.

Albany

Albany, NY

New York’s capital city offers a mix of culture, nature, and nightlife. If you’re passing through, we highly recommend 677 Prime, a steakhouse perfect for a memorable dinner. Albany also features historic sites, museums, beautiful parks and preserves, shopping, and a vibrant bar and restaurant scene.

Cobleskill

Cobleskill, NY

A little off the beaten path, Cobleskill is a charming small town located about 40 minutes west of Albany. We spent a weekend here and loved the cozy shops and relaxed vibe. The real highlight? Howe Caverns—a fascinating underground cave system, such a fun and unique experience!

Cooperstown

Cooperstown, NY

Known as the home of baseball, Cooperstown offers a fun mix of sports, history, arts, and outdoor activities. Zach especially loved visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum—a must for any baseball fan! The town also features art galleries, scenic lake views, and great local restaurants and shops.

Bolton Landing

Bolton Landing, NY

Bolton Landing is a delightful town on Lake George filled with shops, restaurants, and lakeside activities. You can explore the nearby Sagamore Hotel—a historic luxury resort with restaurants, a spa, and stunning views. Around Lake George, enjoy everything from boat rentals and steamship cruises to kayaking, fishing, hiking, and camping. There’s truly something for everyone!

Ticonderoga

Ticonderoga, NY 12883

Welcome to Ticonderoga! This is home base for our fun-filled wedding weekend. While you are here, take some time to explore and enjoy a few of our favorite local spots. Cool off with a sweet treat from Wind-Chill Factory, rent a kayak or rowboat to soak in the beautiful lake views, or step back in time with a visit to Fort Ticonderoga - a must for any history buff. We hope you love it here as much as we do!

For all the days along the way
