On July 16th, 2016 Zachary sent a smile to Lynneise through the dating website Christian Mingle and on August 7th, 2016 Lynneise sent a smile in return. Zach followed up with a message that Lynn couldn't actually read until she paid $29.99, so she looked at his profile one more time, whipped out her wallet, and paid the best 30 bucks she ever spent. After emailing, texting, and video chatting for about a month, Zach travelled an hour down to the St. Joseph area to meet face to face. He pulled up to her apartment and she walked outside to give him a hug followed by a big kiss that she originally said she would wait till the third date for (but awkward silence + butterflies + a cute boy makes a girl do crazy things). From there they played mini golf, went to the pier, and she cooked him dinner (which ultimately sealed the deal).
During their first date on September 1st, 2016, Zachary and Lynneise walked along Silver Beach to the edge of the pier where they wrote their initials in a heart on the lookout tower. Roughly a year later on September 9th, 2017, Zach took Lynn back down to St. Joseph, Mi to relive some of their first dates, including walking down the pier to see if their initials we're still there. When they got there and saw it was gone, Lynn pulled out a marker to write it again, and as she turned around to ask Zach where to put it, she found him on one knee asking "will you marry me?" to which she responded, "heck yeah!" Soon after Lynn realized Zach's sister's were following behind them the whole time with a camera, and his whole family were secretly waiting back on the beach to celebrate!
