KRISTA: I had Zach over for dinner of homemade Moroccan food for our first date - it was important to get Jake & Britain's stamp of approval! Zach walked in the door, set a bottle of wine down on the coffee table, wrapped me in his arms, and surprised me with what is now officially my last first kiss. Jake & Britain were smitten kittens, and Zach's smooth confidence continues to be my rock. A few months later, I had a solo trip planned to Uganda. Zach had never thought about traveling to Africa, but decided to jump in with both feet! He booked a ticket and met me halfway around the world. I knew I found someone who was willing to step out of his comfort zone and take risks with me. When my head is in the clouds, Zach keeps me grounded. He entertains and challenges my day-dreams and ideas with kind, patient and practical wisdom. He's the best Cat Dad I could imagine and always makes me laugh! ZACH: On our second date, I tried to wow Krista with my own cooking, making a shrimp dish from Martin's restaurant - a place I used to go with my Grandmother in Melaque, Mexico. I eventually asked if her cats would move in with me - she of course followed them. My bachelor pad turned into a grown-up, comfy-cozy home full of more hair/fur than I imagined. I love every minute of it. Krista whole-heartedly and easily became a Coug fan making the 5-hour journey to Pullman for all the home games with genuine interest, energy and passion. Her incessant optimism reminds me it's always a new game, it's not over until it's over and anything is possible. She continues to inspire me with her wanderlust by embracing opportunities for adventures in places near and far. Last November we traveled to Peru where I proposed to her at Machu Picchu (let me tell you it's hard to hide a ring in your carry-on luggage) and I look forward to a lifetime of exploration and adventure with her by my side!
