We realize it is not feasible for everyone to fly across the world for a week. We're sad that you cannot be there but completely understand. We will be having a reception back in the states on June 2, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. We would love for you to come and raise a glass with us!
Rome is about a 2.5 hour drive, and Florence is 1.5 hours from the Villa. Both cities are beautiful if you want to spend some time there before you come to the Villa, but in Kimberly's professional opinion, Rome has better gelato!
Since the Villa is in the country the easiest way to get there is a rental car. Rental cars are affordable for the week and give you some flexibility to get groceries or go to eat off the property. If we have a group outing planned for the day we will rent vans so that we can all drink Tuscan wine to our heart's content, so don't worry about that!
Nope! Italy uses the same side of the road that we do. But we advise you to review Italy's driving laws and signs. http://www.italia.it/en/useful-info/rules-to-drive-in-italy.html
Make sure you have your passport, copies of your passport/license in case you lose it, and your debit card to withdraw money. Call your bank before you leave so they know you'll be overseas!
Sunscreen, bug spray and a high alcohol tolerance! Really, you should bring layers and whatever you need to lounge by the pool. Don't forget a converter for the outlets and any toiletries you need!
We have some meals planned together that are listed on the events tab. For everything else you can drive into town to go to a restaurant or you can eat in your apartment, since they all have kitchens.
Italy's weather is pleasant in the spring, the highs are in the 70s and the lows in the 50s. However, rain is common so make sure to pack versatile options! And let's all send up some good vibes for no rain on the big day!
Since we are such a small group, I want the photos to look cohesive. Zach will be in a navy suit and Kimberly will be in white ;) I will think about a color scheme for y'all and let you know!
First off, get ready for the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen! Then, pack some comfortable shoes! We have tried our best to make this week go smoothly, but if you have questions email us! Going overseas can be really overwhelming and we want everyone to be comfortable.
We are going to make a google doc with every event listed and a RSVP option. We ask that you RSVP for every event you would like to attend, even the welcome dinner, so we can get an accurate headcount. The google doc will be sent out closer to May.
We want to make this as easy for you as possible. We will pay for everyone before we get there, so you don't need to travel with hundreds of euros. When the deposits are due, you can pay us a lump sum for your excursions.
