Katie and Zach met at a casual game of Ultimate Frisbee on a cool September night. He had been invited by a new teammate and she was a regular. They bonded immediately over their Presbyterian roots and their goofy personalities. He was immediately smitten and they became close friends over the next few months.

After a few months of "will they, won't they" Katie and Zach finally began dating. He took her to Top of the Hill for a first date/birthday dinner and used a gift card (which Katie loved, by the way). It was delicious and fun, and the start of a beautiful relationship.

On a VERY hot day in May, Katie and Zach graduated from UNC. Katie was grumpy because of the heat and eager to get to lunch. Unbeknownst to Katie, Zach had something more planned. As they posed for graduation pictures on the steps of Morehead Planetarium, Zach asked Katie to marry him. She emphatically said yes and the rest is history.
