FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Super easy! When we send out our invitations, a link to our website will be included that will prompt you to RSVP online to the listed events. You may also select a meal option at this time.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for the day is semi-formal.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

For the Ceremony: Please try to arrive at the waterfalls by 5:45pm to allow ample time for seating. The tram will be transporting guests from the main building every 15 minutes (5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45). For the Reception: If you are only attending the reception, please arrive by 7:00 pm to be seated for dinner. The meal will be served at 7:30 pm.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Frederik Meijer Gardens parking is free and you may park anywhere! The most convenient lot is directly in front of the welcome center.

Question

Can I walk around the gardens?

Answer

Yes! You may arrive at the gardens any time throughout the morning or afternoon if you wish to walk around for a regular visit (general admission for adults is $18). The gardens and sculpture park will be open to the public until 5:00 pm. During the reception, guests will have access to the greenhouses, the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory, and the Padnos Rooftop Sculpture Garden as long as they have not been rented out by another party.

Question

How long will the ceremony last?

Answer

The ceremony will last approximately 20-30 minutes.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

If we choose to proceed with the outdoor ceremony, our venue will provide everyone with umbrellas. If not however, our backup ceremony location is the Foundation Room inside the main building on the lower level.

Question

Will transportation to the ceremony location be provided?

Answer

Yes! The Meijer Gardens tram service circulates every 15 minutes from the main building, and will take you to and from the waterfalls.

Question

Can I take my own pictures and videos?

Answer

We do ask that phones be put away and silenced for the ceremony. During the reception, you may take as many pictures and videos as you’d like! We also ask that any recording or photography does not interfere with our hired photographer.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We will only be able to accommodate guests and plus ones that are listed on your invitation.

Question

Where will the reception be held?

Answer

The reception will be at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in the Huizenga Grand Room and Atrium.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes!

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

We have done our best to ensure a variety of meal options including a vegetarian/vegan dish, but please let us know if you have any other restrictions we should be aware of.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

We have provided a list of some nearby hotels for anyone needing overnight accommodations in our “Places to Stay” page.

Question

Can I make song requests?

Answer

Absolutely! Feel free to ask our DJ for your favorite songs!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We are not enforcing a no-children policy for the day, but we would like parents to take into consideration the later-than-usual ceremony and reception time. Please be sure to RSVP for your children as well where you will be able to select a kid's meal option for dinner.

Question

If I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

Feel free to reach out to us through our wedding email zachandgina2022@gmail.com
