Rental Car
Luckily ground transportation is very easy in Mexico. If you are planning on renting a car (which isn't a bad idea), your US drivers license is valid, and you don't need any different or special drivers insurance. Zach and I rented a car through the app TURO; it was super easy to use. There are also all the typical car rental companies located at the airport, so you could book online and pick up the car when you arrive. If you choose not to rent a car, there are plenty of taxi companies in the area at all times. We took a few taxi's while we were there and felt very comfortable.
Hotel
This is the hotel we have chosen for our stay. We got a great deal through Hotels.com so try them first!
Hotel
As budget friendly alternative to The Marquee, we like this little hotel. It's right off one of the main walking streets and close to everything.
Travel Note
Cell phones: Most US phone plans include coverage in Mexico and Canada, so we had no issue with using our phones while we were there. Be aware though, that the cell service isn't amazing and your internet speed will slow down throughout the day, but it worked just fine for texting/calling and driving directions. Money: You can pay with US dollars almost everywhere you go, stores, convenience stores, taxi cabs, etc. Zach and I took out Mexican Pesos from a bank two blocks away from our hotel to have on hand. You might want to exchange some money before you come to have handy but don't worry if you forget to before you go.
