Maroon Bells Wilderness

A can't miss for your trip to Aspen! Road bike, or E-Bike to the Maroon bells, take the shuttle up and hike from the top, or just enjoy the view! Reservations are required for the shuttle service in the link provided here. They can book up so we recommend you purchase in advance, especially if you're going with a group. The shuttle leaves from Highlands Ski Area, RFTA has free buses from Aspen that can take you there, or check with your hotel shuttle.

Silver Queen Gondola

Take the gondola from town to the top of Aspen Mountain. Enjoy the views at over 11,000 feet, hike, have lunch or drinks at the Sundeck. Tickets are required, there are single use tickets in addition to multiday passes available, and discounts for children. Tickets can be purchased day of at the Gondola Plaza as well.

Hikes

The Aspen area is knowing for its hiking, especially this time of year with the Aspen leaves changing! Below are some recommendations you can access from town, but for more options in the area and details are available in the link provided. - Ajax Trail - Easy trail across the base of Aspen Mountain, trailhead located in town - Rio Grande - Easy paved trail that goes from Aspen all the way to Glenwood (though we don't recommend you hike that far) - Smuggler - moderate 3 miles round trip up a jeep road, beautiful views of town - Hunter Creek Trail - moderate, rocky trail up hunter creek, can loop with Smuggler for a longer hike - Ute Trail - difficult steep trail close to town

Lots of great restaurants and bars in Aspen! Here are some of our favorites: - White House Tavern (no reservations, but always worth the wait!) - Clarks Oyster Bar - Meat and Cheese - Paradise Bakery (breakfast pastries, coffee and desserts) - Mi Chola
