Travel

The Wedding Website of Kara Kwasniowski and Jacob Youngman
We know this a big travel for everyone so we want to include some travel tips to hopefully help with some guidance! 2025 marks Italy’s jubilee year, which means more travelers and higher prices are expected. We highly recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible, as many places are already filling up quickly. It’s also a good idea to secure your flights early. October is a great time to visit since it’s a shoulder month—less crowded, great weather, and more affordable prices, especially after the busy summer season. Sooner than later is always better but there are some tips online suggesting that 4-6 months out is also a safe time frame, as well as also traveling on weekdays. There are some sites like SkyScanner that help monitor prices or you can work with a travel agent!

Travel Note

PASSPORTS

Please remember to check if your passport has expired! The U.S. has improved on their processing times but you should still expect passport applications to take 4-6 weeks. Passports must be more than 6 months valid upon date of entry or you will be denied entry to Italy. (MUST BE VALID UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL 1, 2026)

Flight

FLORENCE AIRPORT (FLR)

All main events will be held in/around Florence, Italy. Sometimes flight options are a little more limited/more expensive than flying into Rome.

Flight

ROME FIUMICINO AIRPORT (FCO)

Rome is a much larger airport and has more options for flights, as well as more affordable flight options coming from the US. From Rome you will need to take a high speed train to Florence -- about 1.5 hours and can cost anywhere from $20-$40 for a one-way ticket.
