A classic! Nick's favorite exhibit is the armory collection ( if that counts) and I love the museum's Middle Eastern gallery. Also, don't miss the "Gross Clinic" - it graphically shows an 1800s surgery being performed right here in Philadelphia.
You've just arrived to Philly? You're hungry and tired from travelling? We highly recommend takeout from the best Indian place in town. They have two locations, one in fishtown and one in West philly. Rachel’s favorite dish is the paneer malai methi, and Nick’s favorite is the lamb vindaloo.
Be transported to another part of the globe with a visit to Suraya! This is Rachel's all time favorite restaurant. They serve up fantastic Lebanese food. Brunch is fantastic here (as is dinner, but on the pricier side). While stopping for brunch, hang out around Frankford Ave in Fishtown, stopping in local stores for records, local designer clothing and jewelry.
Another fantastic, fantastic place for brunch. It serves up a mix of French and Lebanese food. This café is in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of the city. It is located right next to a cute plant store, so while waiting for your table to be called stop in to check it out :)
After a big brunch at Cafe la Maude or Suraya... nothing is better than filling up on beer! LOL . Tons of great breweries throughout the city! Love City has a great selection and its close to Northern Liberties/ Fishtown in the Spring Garden neighborhood of the city. Our favorite brewery in the area is probably Tired Hands, however its flagship location is in the suburbs ( Ardmore I think)
Walk the streets where the founding fathers of the USA once walked. Visit where the declaration of independence was signed, see the liberty bell and check out the awesome American Revolutionary museum. there is so much history here and the city does a great job of maintaining all attractions.
Check out the bustling streets of the Italian market! Filled with Italian delicacies. I highly recommend eating a cannoli from any of the bakeries or doing a tap room olive oil tasting at Cardenas. However, this area was always known as the bustling empire of new immigrants to the city. So also check out the amazing array of Mexican food and Asian (especially Vietnamese)
Take a scroll through Rittenhouse Square! Bring a blanket to relax in the park like a local. There are tons of great coffee shops in walking distance from the park, additionally one of Anthropologie's flagship store is on the corner. Rachel also personally recommends a stop at Shakespeare bookstore while in the Rittenhouse area :)
Take a stroll down Elfreth’s Alley- the oldest street in America! Be sure to go down the hidden side alley and read a bit of the history regarding the original inhabitants. This is right by la mereganie coffee - stop in for a matcha (yum) or grab brunch at high street on market.
No visit to philly is complete without stopping in this heavenly place. Fulfill all your wildest food desires! We highly recommend stopping in at the Amish owned bakeries or soft pretzel stands. Additionally, 4th street cookie is a philly staple. Personally- I am a huge fan of Becks Cajun Cafe in the back. Enjoy!
