Philadelphia is quite the city! We have countless memories here, and thought we would share some of our highlights with you. Late September/ October is the best time of year to visit Philadelphia. The colonial charm of the city seems to mesh best with the autumn months. The leaves are starting to change from green into shades of red, orange and yellow and its the perfect temperature to enjoy a local coffee while meandering through the charming cobblestoned streets. Perhaps you can make an extended trip out of your time here in Philly... we’ll always recommend that :)

Download the app and do a personal walking tour! You will be so surprised at the graveyard's stories. Laurel Hill also offers some of the most scenic views of Philadelphia.

John's Roast Pork

John's Roast Pork

14 Snyder Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19148
, (215) 463-1951

Nick deems this as the best cheesesteak, however its almost impossible to get there while open. He also recommends Joes Cheesesteaks in Fishtown or Woodrows Sandwich shop on South Street.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia Museum of Art

2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
, (215) 763-8100

A classic! Nick's favorite exhibit is the armory collection ( if that counts) and I love the museum's Middle Eastern gallery. Also, don't miss the "Gross Clinic" - it graphically shows an 1800s surgery being performed right here in Philadelphia.

Ekta Indian Cuisine

Ekta Indian Cuisine

250 East Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125
, (215) 426-2277

You've just arrived to Philly? You're hungry and tired from travelling? We highly recommend takeout from the best Indian place in town. They have two locations, one in fishtown and one in West philly. Rachel’s favorite dish is the paneer malai methi, and Nick’s favorite is the lamb vindaloo.

Suraya Restaurant

Suraya Restaurant

1528 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125
, (215) 302-1900

Be transported to another part of the globe with a visit to Suraya! This is Rachel's all time favorite restaurant. They serve up fantastic Lebanese food. Brunch is fantastic here (as is dinner, but on the pricier side). While stopping for brunch, hang out around Frankford Ave in Fishtown, stopping in local stores for records, local designer clothing and jewelry.

La Colombe Coffee Roasters

La Colombe Coffee Roasters

1335 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125
, (267) 479-1600

Grab a coffee like a local at la Colombe. This is the flagship building for the coffee empire , all of which started right here in Philly!

Cafe La Maude

Cafe La Maude

816 North 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
, (267) 318-7869

Another fantastic, fantastic place for brunch. It serves up a mix of French and Lebanese food. This café is in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of the city. It is located right next to a cute plant store, so while waiting for your table to be called stop in to check it out :)

Love City Brewing

Love City Brewing

1023 Hamilton Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
, (215) 398-1900

After a big brunch at Cafe la Maude or Suraya... nothing is better than filling up on beer! LOL . Tons of great breweries throughout the city! Love City has a great selection and its close to Northern Liberties/ Fishtown in the Spring Garden neighborhood of the city. Our favorite brewery in the area is probably Tired Hands, however its flagship location is in the suburbs ( Ardmore I think)

Giorgio On Pine

Giorgio On Pine

1328 Pine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 545-6265

There are so many great Italian BYOBs in Philadelphia. However, this one has become one of our new favorites. Dining at a local Italian BYOB is a must when you visit philly.

Vic Sushi Bar

Vic Sushi Bar

2035 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 564-4339

This is where we have had many valentine day nights. We typically keep our dates low key on valentines day! Affordable, fresh sushi. You sit at the bar and have the chef make it right in front of you. Additionally it is BYOB.

Olde City, Philadelphia PA

Olde City, Philadelphia PA

Philadelphia, PA

Walk the streets where the founding fathers of the USA once walked. Visit where the declaration of independence was signed, see the liberty bell and check out the awesome American Revolutionary museum. there is so much history here and the city does a great job of maintaining all attractions.

Italian Market 9th Street

Italian Market 9th Street

919 South 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 278-2903

Check out the bustling streets of the Italian market! Filled with Italian delicacies. I highly recommend eating a cannoli from any of the bakeries or doing a tap room olive oil tasting at Cardenas. However, this area was always known as the bustling empire of new immigrants to the city. So also check out the amazing array of Mexican food and Asian (especially Vietnamese)

Rittenhouse Square

Rittenhouse Square

210 West Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (267) 586-5675

Take a scroll through Rittenhouse Square! Bring a blanket to relax in the park like a local. There are tons of great coffee shops in walking distance from the park, additionally one of Anthropologie's flagship store is on the corner. Rachel also personally recommends a stop at Shakespeare bookstore while in the Rittenhouse area :)

Elfreth's Alley

Elfreth's Alley

124-126 Elfreth's Alley, Philadelphia, PA 19106
, (215) 574-0560

Take a stroll down Elfreth’s Alley- the oldest street in America! Be sure to go down the hidden side alley and read a bit of the history regarding the original inhabitants. This is right by la mereganie coffee - stop in for a matcha (yum) or grab brunch at high street on market.

Reading Terminal Market

Reading Terminal Market

51 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 922-2317

No visit to philly is complete without stopping in this heavenly place. Fulfill all your wildest food desires! We highly recommend stopping in at the Amish owned bakeries or soft pretzel stands. Additionally, 4th street cookie is a philly staple. Personally- I am a huge fan of Becks Cajun Cafe in the back. Enjoy!
