It was a dreary March day in Philadelphia (surprise, surprise :) ) , a pandemic was sweeping across the globe and infiltrating our homes. Our date night plans at the Franklin Institute had been abruptly canceled and in lieu of our museum plans, we decided to take a stroll through our neighborhood. We ended up walking all the way to Rittenhouse Square, about 15 minutes from our current home in the Graduate Hospital section of the city. Upon entering the park, all of my senses were tingled. There was a vibrant splash of color from the thousands of flowers delicately arranged along some of the park's most famous stone architecture. The flowers had been donated from local florists after facing a flood of pandemic canceled weddings. Saxophone tunes played in the background from a local street musician further turning a desolated park into a romantic landscape. It sounds like such a cliche, but I finally had that “out of body” experience where the world seems to completely stop around you. . Nick lowered down to one knee, and asked me to marry him! Cheers to forever!
The day to begin forever. Nick and I read our personal vows to one another on top of the hill adjacent to the Philadelphia Art Museum. The moment was only about me and him, committing to one another for the rest of our lives. We later celebrated our wedding weekend at the Four Seasons. The only thing missing from the equation is our celebration with you...see you in October 2022!
Following our inpromptu private vow exchange, Nick and I moved to Panama. Nick signed up to do charity work with a non-profit called, “Floating Doctors”, whereas my job remained flexible in remote working from the beginning of the pandemic days. We are here now, and currently residing on Isla Colon, Bocas Del Toro. It is part of a chain of islands on the northern Caribbean coast of the beautiful country , Panama.
