Nate was busy shootin' hoops and Teresa was busy blocking goals. We didn't pay much attention to each other in high school. Teresa remembers Nate as the "basketball playing, Lakers jersey wearing, Eminem look-alike". Nate remembers Teresa as a "soccer playing, super friendly and sweet person, but most of all.... Mikey's little sister" A few years after both had graduated, Nate reached out to Teresa which then led to their first date at La Jolla Shores. The rest is history!
Nate was feeling: The day started off with a Buckeyes win and after that I was going to ask Teresa to be my wife so I knew it was going to be an amazing day from the start! However, as Teresa was unaware of my big plans, I became a little frustrated with her taking her time getting ready which had me worried that my friends would be stuck there waiting for too long in the bushes. Finally she is ready and we head to the trail for the big hike. Because I was so flustered packing up a backpack for the trail hike to make it convincing it was a typical hike, I forgot water which she asked for as soon as we started hiking...of course! Eventually we make our way down the trail and she proceeds to walk right past the sign, completely oblivious to the fact that I plan on changing both of our lives in just a moment. I ask her, "Hey babe, what is that?" She reads it, gasps, and I got down on one knee. Teresa was feeling: Initially I didn't understand why he was bouncing around the house acting flustered and weird. That is Nate sometimes though! As we arrived to the trail, Nate was talking on and on which is nothing out of the norm. We walked halfway through the straight away when Nate turns around and says, "Babe, what's that?" I was completely oblivious to the sign that said "Sweet T will be you marry me?"!!! I believe I read the sign 5 or 6 times to be sure I read it correctly. After I was done staring at the sign, Nate had already kneeled on one knee and then asked me to marry him. We both got choked up as I said "YES!" Then our friends popped out of the bushes!
