Scratch that about November 29th, obviously. We had our legal wedding, a micro-mony, on August 2nd 2020. Now join us on our one year + one month anniversary (September 2nd, 2021) for our chuppah and the party we've all been waiting for!
Dear friends and family, Nothing, not even this very special day, means more to us than your health and safety. For that reason we have chosen to postpone our wedding. The new date is Sunday, November 29th, 2020. Same time, same place. We very much hope that we are all in the mood for a party by then! Sincerely, we know it is a stressful time for us all, in many ways, and our thoughts are with you. We appreciate everyone who has reached out, we are doing just fine! We will be sending out communications by email, and likely by mail, as we get closer to the date. We ask that if you think we may not have your email address, you send an email to Becky at Becky.Schiffenhaus@gmail.com with your first and last name. All of our love, Becky and Yos
I want to grow old with you. Old, old. So old we pad through the supermarket using the shopping cart as a cane that steadies us. I’ll wait at register two in my green sweater with threadbare elbows, smiling because you’ve forgotten the bag of day-old pastries. The cashier will tell me a joke about barbers as I wait. He repeats the first line three times but the only word I understand is barber. Over the years we’ve caught inklings of our shrinking frames and hunched spines. You’re a little confused looking for me at the wrong register with a bag of almost-stale croissants clenched in your hand. The first time I held your hand it felt enormous in my own. Sasquatch, I teased you, a million years ago. Over here, I yell, but not in a mad way. We’re laughing. You have a bright yellow pin on your coat that says, Shalom! Senior Discount, you say. But the cashier already knows us. We’re everyone’s favorite customers.
