Yonnique is more than just one of my best friends—she’s like a sister. From the moment we met in 9th grade, we’ve shared countless adventures. Whether we were partying through life, traveling the world, celebrating family milestones, or laughing and crying together, we’ve made memories that will last a lifetime (though some will definitely stay with us to the grave!). Davon already feels like family—my brother in the best ways—and he and my husband share a special bond, probably over their love of bad jokes! I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate them as they begin this beautiful new chapter of their lives.

True friendships provide so many essentials for a happy life. It is the foundation on which to build bonds. It encourages us to be our best self. All I know is that the friendship between Yonnique and I is everlasting. From grade school, where we’d tie our shoelaces extra tight to trading in our sneakers for a pair of stiletto heels. Those heels didn’t stand a chance with us. As we danced, (still dancing BTW), laughed, and explored life, we’ve conquered so much. Sharing our disappointments and victories. To caring, forgiving, saying less when life was lifeing or saying too much when we’d show tough love. The loyalty is unwavering, unmatched. Through the good and bad times. 38 years and counting.

I am the best bridesmaid any person could ask for. I have known the bride for around 15 years, which means I have seen the bride at her best and worst...from the road trips to DC to the shindigs. Where do I begin with my friendship with Yonnique??!! From wearing jumpers and packing crab cakes in her purse to buying her house and being a phenomenal Mom- we have seen each other through it all. Through ups and downs, and whatever life throws our way- we manage to work through it and pass no judgement. Her friendship is pure, true and unconditional. There are many great things to be said about my man Davon; a west-side loke , loving father, mediocre cook 😉, crafty handy man, car enthusiast, but mostly a devoted friend… all these truths barely begin to sum up the measure of his character. When you think “Friend”, We’ve all had some come and go throughout life. Some come for a season, others a reason, or lastly a lesson. Davon comes into peoples lives as a blessing. The gentle giant and tiny firecracker are perfect opposites, together they are a gentle explosive couple.
