It started with a swipe and eventually led to a soul mate…. In our journey to find love, reluctantly we both joined a dating app, as we were both apprehensive about online dating. Davon’s friends encouraged him to join the site and assisted with creating his profile, while my friends motivated me to do the same. Davon expressed his interest, and we started our journey from there. We didn’t know how it would turn out, but it turned into a beautiful connection in the fall of 2021! Our first date was at American Steakhouse. It was there that we both saw firsthand our extreme height difference! Davon just happened to introduce me to friends, and we talked for hours. From that point on, we immediately bonded and started hanging out almost every day. We learned our common interests are watching movies, going to happy hours, spending time with family and friends, traveling, etc. Over time, our relationship continued to grow as we met each other’s family’s and shared holidays together. In April 2023, I threw Davon a birthday party thinking I had planned the ultimate birthday party. To my surprise, he outshined his own event by proposing to me! At first it seemed unreal as it just so happened to fall on April Fool’s Day! I happily accepted and we have been enthralled with each other since then, enjoying our engagement and traveling to places like Europe, the Caribbean and up and down the East Coast.
