Bride
Someone who loves Jesus, Jesse, Papas (cat), and music, in that order. Melody loves spending quality time with people around her, playing games, going on adventures, and being cozy. Melody's cat, Papas, can't wait to have a dad and even sometimes expresses that by not always hissing at Jesse. Melody is incredibly excited to be a Yi-Gray and begin married life on the West Side of Washington.
Groom
How would most people describe me? I think they would say that I have the distinct smell of Red Bull around me at all times, likes spreadsheets and making chord charts a little too much, and fights to make sure everyone is seen and heard. And the three things I love most are Jesus, Melody, and puns, specifically in that order.
Matron of Honor
Girlboss who just finished her Masters in Social Work! Rachel lives in Chicago with her Husband Emmanuel. She has always been 50% of 'the girls' in the Gray household getting into trouble with Melody since 2001. There were lots of ups and downs in Melody and Rachel's relationship growing up, but since Rachel graduated high school, their relationship can be described by nothing less than 'chill with matching energy levels'. If you hear someone burping, it's probably Rachel.
Best Man
Ricky was one of the first friends that I made in Spokane. From our time jamming together in Mead High School Jazz 1 to the endless yapping about random Star Wars shows that made us laugh, cry, and then crash out, I couldn't imagine having a life-long friend like Rick.
Bridesmaid
Eldest sister of Melody who serenaded her as Marvin and Julie brought her home from the hospital after birth. Directed countless family dances and plays including Daniel, Rachel, Melody, and others. Maria is passionate about her commitments and is always willing to talk about Jesus, family, and teaching.
Groomswoman
Every older brother has times where they bicker and beef with their younger sibling. However, Savanna is someone who supports me as well as I can support her, and is one of the family members who knows me best, and will continue to be a support for our marriage for years to come.
Bridesmaid
Sister (-in-law) of Melody as of 2019. Alyssa has been supportive of Melody since they met! She and Daniel hosted Melody for a summer of work, educated her in cooking basics, and encouraged her countless times throughout college. Alyssa is such a creative and artistic person who is an incredible mother & advocate.
Groomsman
Only one of Melody's siblings gets to be the first to have met her future husband, and Daniel is that sibling. From his son's birthday party to holidays and small getaways in either Everett or Spokane, getting to know Daniel has been an absolute joy and delight.
Bridesmaid
Natalie and Melody first met in the Music Ed Program at Whitworth University and bonded over their love for music & teaching. Nat & Mel have loved supporting each other throughout their teaching, relationship, and college journeys. Natalie has seen Melody in different stages of life and has been a huge encouragement throughout them.
Groomsman
Have you ever been to a jam session where you just immediately lock into a groove with someone? In both music and not, that's me and Carl. From locking eyes across the stage and hysterically laughing when one of us lands a bad chord to hanging out over bad Whitworth Dining Hall food and vibing, Carl is one of the coolest and most fun guys to hang around.
Bridesmaid
Irene and Melody met while on worship teams and continued bonding as they became worship leaders at Whitworth. Irene is living out her best life in Sacramento, California. Irene and Melody have had countless conversations about Jesus, relationships, and life. Irene has been a constant presence and she gives some of the best advice!
