FAQs

If you have any other questions, please just ask us!
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail or evening attire! For our out of town guests, keep in mind that it may be cold in October.

Question

Are you registered anywhere?

Answer

Yes! We have a registry at Crate and Barrel, Sur La Table, and Amazon as well as gift funds through Zola. The links to the other registries can be found on the Registry page by clicking "Other Registries", underneath the header.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids but unless they are named on the invitation, we humbly request just your presence. We want our wedding to be your night off!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know when you RSVP and we will do our best to accomodate.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Chicago has many transportation options (Uber/Lyft/Train/Cabs) to/from the airport. Parking can be a hassle/expensive in the city and is not needed if you are planning on staying downtown. Please note that after 9PM, we would recommend taking an uber or taxi.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will not be a shuttle from the hotels to the wedding venue as Chicago has many forms of convenient public transportation to offer (Uber, Lyft, Cabs, and Trains). For those who prefer to drive themselves, please keep in mind that the venue does not offer parking and there is limited street parking available. Please note that when leaving the venue at night, we would recommend taking an uber or taxi.

Question

Is there parking near The Joinery

Answer

There is some street parking (un-zoned) in the residential neighborhoods. There are also some metered parking spots on some streets. Please double check street signs if you plan on the street. We would encourage you to take an uber/lyft/taxi to the venue if you can.
