Girl swipes right...Boy swipes right three months later. Like many modern romances, the story of Rani and Jason began on Hinge, a social media dating app. Rani decided to give Hinge a go and one of the first people she came across was a handsome guy with an infectious smile who worked at Nielsen. As luck would have it, Rani and Jason had many mutual friends so Rani asked her friends to set them up. A couple months went by and Rani and Jason never matched on Hinge. Unbeknownst to Rani, her friend Katie (who is a member of the bridal party), had reached out to Jason to try and set them up but had not heard back. Turns out Jason was taking a hiatus from dating...silly Jason. Eventually it all came together and Rani and Jason went on their first date on Tuesday Nov 4th 2014 at Summer House Santa Monica. Two bottles of wine, a barely touched meal, and almost 4 hours later the date ended and a lifetime of adventures and laughs began.

Jason invited Rani to attend a "work event" in Lincoln Park on a random Wednesday in July. When they arrived at the Prairie at South Pond, Jason asked if Rani wanted to go on a walk since they had some time to kill before the "Event". As they walked around, Rani began noticing that Jason was behaving oddly and seemed very emotional. He made up a story about having a bad day at work that was still bothering him. They arrived at the famous honeycomb structure only to discover a yoga class was taking place. Rani had no idea but this is the location where Jason had planned to propose. He decided to improvise and pulled her off to the side in a private spot by the pond. There he completely surprised Rani, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. They cried, they laughed, Rani almost fainted from the shock more than once, and then they celebrated with lots of champagne!
