... It started with a Myspace friend request; yes I discovered Richie through Myspace! I immediately thought him to be quite attractive but judging from his pictures, he seemed too wild for me to even consider dating such a guy! Fast forward a bit, we finally met in person unexpectedly in front of the Virginia Western bookstore. I still cannot figure out how I managed to build up the confidence to shout for his attention that morning. Onward a couple of years later up to December 16th of 2011, Richie asked me to be his lady. Like a conventional type of relationship, the initial phase of dating was like the kissy-face heart emojis, sparkles and fun. Through the years of being together, we have both laughed uncontrollably, cried 'till snots dripped down our faces, fought like toddlers, annoyed one another, kissed like star-crossed lovers, stood by relentlessly for each other, cared for tenderly, missed him/her unbearably and loved like it was all we ever had to give. Five years came knocking around and on a pretty morning of February 19, 2017, my soul mate asked me the rhetorical question! Richie got down on one knee (with superb posture considering it was on a wooden bench) in front of a majestic, breath taking view of the Blue Ridge mountains. I was certain that he must be playing a joke or "rehearsing" for the real deal. But to my amazement he asked as I stared back eyes-wide open in utter silence and disbelief. I was speechless! The split second actually gave Richie a little scare. But I came to my senses, bent over to kiss him and shouted yes! Spending the rest of our lives together will be honored and vowed in front of all our close family and friends on August 18, 2018. We are both very excited, nervous and anxious for the day we start calling each other as husband and wife. Come what may be, but 08.18.18 will be going down as #thebestdayever !!!
