Flight
Taking a direct flight to Dubai via Emirates airlines is highly recommended. It's a short and sweet 14 hour direct flight (from Washington DC). Emirates has direct flights from Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston Bush Intercontinental, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington Dulles
Flight
Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Abu Dhabi International Airport are the primary airports that serve the UAE. Abu Dhabi airport will require an additional 1.5 hour drive in order to get to Dubai so flying to DXB would be the preference.
Travel Note
We recommend you download a ride hailing app like Uber or Careem (now also owned by Uber) to request a cab. For those in a rush, we recommend utilizing Uber Helicopter to get around. You could also hail a regular taxi cab from the street. These do accept most major credit cards (with the exception of American Express and Diners Club). When you are at a tourist destination such as malls, The Gold Souq, etc, it's generally easier to walk over to the taxi stands and catch a regular taxi there than trying to hail a cab. Do note that regular taxis are a bit more expensive than ride hailing options.
