Ena is Yejin’s friend from high school. Ena was the most intelligent girl in their high school, but Yejin secretly knew her quirkiness, so they shared many great memories like playing hooky and eating snacks during the class. Working at the World Bank in D.C. now, Ena changes the world into a better place.
Kyle
Best Man
Kyle has been Nate's best friend since 6th grade. From middle school show choir to high school sports, escape the room games to extreme 13-mile obstacle course races, Kyle has been by Nate's side since 2002. A material scientist by day and home cook/gamer by night, Kyle's personality and hobbies complement Nate's quirkiness quite well!
Lindsay
Bridesmaid
Lindsay is Yejin’s friend from the University of Arizona. Lindsay is the first to ask what was up with Nate and Yejin (Yes, you can share any secret with her). Lindsay taught Yejin how graduate school life could be exciting and fun if you have a good friend. Finishing her Ph.D. program at UC Davis now, Lindsay is the perfect bridesmaid for the wedding.
Albert
Groomsman
Albert lived in the dorm room directly above Nate in their freshman dorm at UC Davis. After taking Albert on his first (and spontaneous) high Sierra backpacking trip at the end of their freshman year, Nate knew Albert was going to be one of his bros for life. A lieutenant in the United States Navy, Albert is a dentist with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Hooyah! (P.S. He's single, ladies!)
Sara
Bridesmaid
Sara was the first person Yejin communicated with as a University of Arizona graduate student. Yejin probably could not have finished comps and dissertation on time without her prayers, encouragement, and Korean food (If you need Korean food recipes, look for her!). As a professor and a mom of Jiho, Sara is killing it.
Dave
Groomsman
Nate knew Dave as "that cool dude who naps in his black Ford Mustang before physics class in Parking Lot 46" before formally introducing himself to Dave in said class at UC Davis. It didn't take too many interactions for Nate to realize that Dave was a loyal and trustworthy guy, who has since become a close and dear friend. As fate would have it, Dave completed medical school and his residency at the University of Arizona when Nate was going through his Ph.D. program. Go Ags and Bear Down!
Larissa
Bridesmaid
Larissa is Yejin’s “hermana” from the University of Arizona. On the first day of the orientation (Yes, the one Yejin was late), Larissa and Yejin hugged each other and decided to be sisters for good because they understood each other in every possible way. Passionate about media and women, Larissa is the most increíble Mexican Ph.D. person you will ever meet.
Kory
Groomsman
Kory is THE reason why Nate moved to Tucson and, in many ways, the reason why Nate and Yejin met (or, at least, one of the reasons that explains a significant amount of the variance). More than an influential academic mentor, Kory is a dear friend who has helped Nate become a more appreciative and affectionate person. Communication aside, if you're into--or want to get into--scotch, Kory is the guy to talk to!
Brian
Officiant
Brian knew about Yejin and Nate's secret relationship well before their parents found out. He has been a consistent source of support and jokes since 2017. If he isn't attending or watching a UofA athletic event, you will probably find Brian taking care of the yard during the day and relaxing in the hot tub late at night. Yejin and Nate are absolutely thrilled and honored to have Brian as their officiant.
