There's a beautiful bike trail from the Teton Shadows condos all the way to (and through) the national park, in case you want to arrive in style! For hikes, we recommend Phelps Lake (easy), Delta Lake (medium), and Lake Solitude (hard). Go for a swim in Jenny Lake or Jackson Lake, and top it off with pizza at Dornan's!
Enjoy a quick hike up Snow King or Crystal Butte, or take a stroll through the shops and galleries near town square (our favorites are Altamira and Mountain Dandy). If you're looking for a meal - the best spots are King Sushi, The Kitchen, Hatch Taqueria, Orsetto's, and Gather. And if you want to drink or dance, check out The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, The Wort, and The Rose.
While there's not much skiing in September, there's still plenty to do in Teton Village. We recommend mountain biking and hiking (our favorite trail is Granite Canyon, which takes you all the way to the top of the mountain - where you can get waffles and a free tram ride back down). Enjoy a meal at the top of the gondola at Piste, and finish off with a beer at the Mangy Moose!
East of Jackson are the stunning red and lavender hills, where you can find adventures that are more off the beaten path. Hike the Lavender Hills trail and cool off with a swim in Slide Lake. Adrenaline junkies can go to Kelly Cliffs for some cliff jumping instead. You can also enjoy a horseback ride through the hills (contact JH Outfitting Company for details). This area is one of the best kept secrets in Jackson Hole!
South of town is the Hoback Junction, which features a lively section of the Snake River. You can go white water rafting, or float down a calmer section of the river in tubes. Afterwards, warm up at the Astoria Hot Springs. For the climbers out there, there are two great crags in this area. And for the fishermen, you'll find some incredible fly fishing along the river!
