Are children allowed to attend your wedding?

Answer

No. To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for your understanding.

What documents do I need to enter into Mexico by land?

Answer

All U.S. Citizens will need a valid passport or passport card. Beginning September 1, 2015, the Immigration Service of Mexico requires a valid passport of your home nation for pedestrians entering Mexico at San Ysidro. For more information, please see the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s website.

How long does it take to cross the border driving?

Answer

Getting back across the border can take forever (2-6 hours), especially on the weekends. Estimated border wait times can be found here: https://bwt.cbp.gov/index.html selecting “passenger vehicles” icons and selecting “San Ysidro”. Typically, the time of night we are crossing, border wait times are minimal. We have waited as long as 8 hours.

How long does it take to cross the border walking?

Answer

Wait time can range from 45 minutes to an hour and a half.

Are there any transportation options if I do not want to drive across the border?

Answer

Yes. We will provide transportation services from the border to Valle de Guadalupe free of cost. As a matter of fact, due to the long border crossing times we highly recommend you consider taking us up on this offer.

I am interested in the transportation you are providing, where is the pick up location and when do I have to be there?

Answer

Transportation will be available for a limited amount of guests on a first come first serve basis. This will include meeting a guide on the U.S. side of the border who will walk you across the international line, and shuttle you to your Valle de Guadalupe destination. Transportation will be provided from San Ysidro to Valle de Guadalupe on Friday, May 15, 2020. Those interested in this service must be at the Chaparral Border Crossing no later than 8:30 AM. Return transportation will be provided from Valle de Guadalupe to San Ysidro on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Departure time will begin at 8:30 AM.

How do I get to the Chaparral Border Crossing?

Answer

There are many options in order to get to the border. ​ Driving & Parking: Depending on traffic, driving from downtown San Diego to the San Ysidro border takes between 20 to 30 minutes. There are many parking options at the border costing approximately $20 to $25 per 24-hour period. Border Station Parking - http://borderstationparking.com/ 4570 Camino De La Plaza, San Ysidro, CA 92173 International Parking 729 E San Ysidro Blvd, San Diego, CA 92173 Taxi/Rideshare: It is very easy to take a taxi or a rideshare program (Uber/Lyft) to the border. When instructing the driver, or inputting the address, be sure to indicate that you are going to the “PedWest” border entry located at 499 Virginia Ave, San Diego, CA 92173. Prices for the taxi or rideshare program vary by distance and type of ride.

How will I get to the ceremony and reception if I don’t drive to Valle de Guadalupe?

Answer

Shuttle transportation will be provided for all guests, whether you have driven in or not. We want you to enjoy our wedding celebration and have a worry-free experience in Valle de Guadalupe. No need to drink and drive and jeopardize your experience. If you drove in: We are coordinating a secure location where your car will be left for the evening and our shuttle service will pick you up at this location and drive you back to this location the next morning to pick up your car. Details will be released at a later date regarding the secure location. If you didn’t drive in: Our shuttle service will pick you up from your hotel or Airbnb and take you to the ceremony, the reception and back to your hotel or Airbnb at the end of the night.

What is the weather in Valle de Guadalupe?

Answer

The almanac reports during the same week of our wedding in 2019 the high was 68 degrees and the low was 59 degrees. Please plan your attire accordingly.

Is the reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The reception is outdoors. We will provide heaters but remember to plan your attire accordingly.

Are the room rates a flat fee or will I be responsible for additional charges?

Answer

There are no hidden resort fees or additional taxes these are flat rates. However any additional items such as a snack, a beverage or other items that may be provided by the hotel at an additional charge is not included in the flat rate.
