Getting directly to Chateau du Doux
We know many of you might be planning on vacationing in France beforehand! If you plan on making your way directly to Chateau du Doux via car, you are of course more than welcome to, and there will be parking available throughout the whole weekend. Much of the information in this section is assuming you may be travelling to Chateau du Doux through Brive.

Flights and trains to Brive
If you plan on going through Brive instead of directly arriving at the chateau, there are two main ways: by train, or by plane through Brive-Souillac Airport (BVE). Between the two, we highly recommend arriving by train. To book train tickets, visit: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/ (or click the "View" button at the bottom of this note). Tickets may be booked online 2-9 months in advance depending on the route - you can see the schedule for May now, but in most cases, tickets are not yet available for purchase. For guests who will arrive in Paris or vacation in Paris beforehand: there are trains directly from Paris to Brive, approximately 4.5 hours. (Note: some routes have one or two connections, please check before booking) The closest international airports to Chateau du Doux are: Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS). This airport is a 2.5 hour drive directly to Chateau du Doux. There are trains directly from Toulouse to Brive, approximately 3 hours. (Note: some routes have one connection, please check before booking) Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD). This airport is a 3 hour drive directly to Chateau du Doux. There are trains directly from Bordeaux to Brive, approximately 2.5 hours. (Note: some routes have one connection, please check before booking) Other nearby airports include: Limoges-Bellegarde (LIG). This airport is a 2 hour drive directly to Chateau du Doux. Trains run directly from Limoges to Brive, approximately 1-1.5 hours. Rodez-Aveyron (RDZ). This airport is a 2 hour drive directly to Chateau du Doux. Trains run directly from Rodez to Brive, approximately 2.5 hours. Bergerac Dordogne Périgord (EGC). This airport is a 2.5 hour drive directly to Chateau du Doux. Trains from Bergerac to Brive will have one or two connections, and can be 3.5-5 hours.

Getting from Brive to Chateau du Doux
Shuttle: We will be arranging for a complimentary shuttle leaving from Brive train station at 3:30pm on Friday, May 16th, and going from Chateau du Doux to Brive train station at 11am on Monday, May 19th. Please indicate in the RSVP if you plan on using the shuttle. Please note: we will not be having shuttle services to and from Chateau du Doux over the weekend. If you do not plan on staying the entire time, or plan to explore nearby areas in your down time, we’d highly recommend either renting a car or reserving a taxi in advance. Car rental: Brive to Chateau du Doux is a fairly simple drive that takes approximately 45 minutes. The best places to rent a car in Brive are the National, Enterprise, and Alamo located at 2 Av. Edmond Michelet, 19100 Brive-la-Gaillarde. This location is a 6 minute walk from the train station. They do have English speaking employees. This is the same as the US and China, and opposite from Australia. Taxi and ridesharing: Uber is available in France, and you can use your regular Uber app. We’d encourage you to schedule a ride in advance to ensure availability.
