Due to the capacity of the venue, we kindly ask that only people named on the invitation RSVP and attend - this includes children and +1s.
You will be provided accommodation at Chateau du Doux, as well as all meals for the duration of your visit, on us! You are welcome to arrange your own accommodations elsewhere if you would prefer - if that's the case, please let us know when you RSVP. If you will be staying at the chateau, you may be assigned to share a room with another guest. Check in is from 4pm, Friday May 16th onwards, and we kindly ask guests to plan their departure by noon, Monday May 19th. Your stay will include: welcome dinner on Friday 16th; continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday 17th; continental breakfast, afternoon BBQ, and dinner on Sunday 18th; breakfast on Monday 19th.
Not at all! Thank you so much for taking time to celebrate with us, for however long you can be there. If you do not wish to stay the entire weekend, we'd love to see you for the ceremony on the afternoon of the 17th, and whatever other time you wish to spend with us. Please let us know if you will be arriving after the 16th or leaving before the 19th in the RSVP.
What we have found convenient was flying into Paris and taking a train to Brive, but we know you may have other vacation plans beforehand. Please see the "Travel" section of the website for more details on other airports and train routes. Please also see the "Travel" section for tips on how to get from Brive to Chateau du Doux, including details of our shuttle service. (Brive-la-Gaillarde is the same as Brive)
Yes! If you choose to drive to Chateau du Doux, there will be parking available.
The wedding dinner will consist of a three-course meal with each course having three options to choose from. Each guest's food choices for the wedding night can be made when completing the RSVP form in the "RSVP" section of the website. Please let us know if you have dietary requirements, especially if none of the preset menu selections work for you. The adult menu choices are: Starters: (1) Chicken Caesar salad topped with garlic croutons; (2) Prawn feuilletes served in a shallot & garlic cream sauce; (3) Brie, roasted red pepper and sundried tomato tartlet served with a fresh basil dressing (Vegetarian) Mains: (1) Duck confit, dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and jus; (2) Traditional French beef bourguignon served with baby roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables; (3) Wild mushroom ravioli served in a creamy sauce topped with parmesan and rocket (Vegetarian) Desserts: (1) Traditional French Creme brulee; (2) White chocolate & strawberry cheesecake served with cream; (3) Trio of sorbet summer fruit sorbets (Vegan) The children's menu consists of: Starter: Homemade garlic bread; Main: Mini burgers, potato wedges and salad; Dessert: Ice cream sundae
Yes! There will be an assortment of beers, wines, and spirits available throughout the duration of your visit.
The dress code for the welcome dinner on May 16th is semi-formal. The dress code for the ceremony and celebrations on May 17th is formal. There is no dress code for the rest of the weekend.
The weather in Altillac, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France is beautiful in May! Historically, temperatures range from 70 Fahrenheit (21 Celsius) during the day to 52 Fahrenheit (11 Celsius) at night. So bring a light jacket for the evenings and nights!
All scheduled events between Friday, May 16th and Monday, May 19th will take place at Chateau du Doux. Please see the "Schedule" section of the website for more details. We ask that you please plan to attend the ceremony on Saturday. Outside of Saturday afternoon, you're very free to explore the nearby town or visit Brive! (Please note, the only officially scheduled transportation will be the Friday and Monday shuttles to and from the train station in Brive, so please plan accordingly if you wish to travel from the chateau).
Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is the nearest town, located 5-7 minutes away from Chateau du Doux. Brive-la-Gaillarde is the nearest city, located 45 minutes away. We have outlined some activities to do at both in the "Things To Do" section of the website.
