FAQs

These are the frequently asked questions. The questions, that are frequently asked. "Many, many people are asking these questions and we're hearing them more and more!" ;)
Question

What about Covid?

Answer

For the safety of all our guests, their families, and their friends, we are requiring that all attendees be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 prior to our big day. We will not be asking you for proof of vaccination, but rather relying on the honor system in that those not vaccinated will have let us know and have declined the invitation, wishing us the best from a distance. In addition, out of overwhelming pre-caution, the city of Boston has implemented an indoor mask mandate. This includes the Old South Meeting House (ceremony) and the Omni Parker House (reception), however are not required to wear masks while eating or drinking (cocktail hour, dinner...) and, overall, our private wedding reception will not be policed for mask mandate adherence. Lastly, if you arrive in Boston and are feeling any symptoms on or before the wedding day please reach out to us (email or phone) for a rapid Covid-19 test as we will have some on-hand. We love you. Stay safe!

Question

Is your wedding on a Friday?

Answer

Yes. We know this may require you to take the day off from work, and we would appreciate it if you used that hard-earned PTO to come celebrate with us! October is arguably the best time of year to visit Boston so we hope you'll take full advantage of the city on the Saturday and Sunday that follow! Check out our “Things To Do” page for our tips and recommendations!

Question

Do I have to stay in the hotel room blocks?

Answer

Nope. We have arranged for room blocks at three downtown Boston hotels for your convenience, but feel free to take advantage of the many hotels in the area, any hotel loyalty program you're a part of, or any flash sale you may find (just don't wait too long)! If you have any questions about a hotel or neighborhood, feel free to reach out to us. We'll try to point you in the right direction!

Question

Will any transportation be provided?

Answer

We don't plan on providing transportation between the hotels and venues as they are all within comfortable walking distance of each other. Coming from Boston Logan Airport, all the hotel room blocks are but a 10-15 minute ride-share away, and our ceremony at the Old South Meeting House is a stone's throw from our Omni Parker House reception. If you'll be arriving by car just make sure to plan ahead for what will be rush hour on a Friday in downtown Boston.

Question

What’s the weather supposed to be like?

Answer

Historically the temperature in Boston on October 29th ranges from about 45 to 60 degrees (F), with the daytime being the warmest and the evening being the coldest. We suggest planning to cover up in a light coat, jacket or shawl on and around the wedding, while in town. Most importantly make sure to check the weather forecast before zipping up your suitcase. All wedding related events will take place indoors so while you’re with us, you’re covered — literally. While October isn’t a rainy season it can and does rain, it just doesn’t typically last long (knock on wood).

Question

Will my kids be invited to the wedding?

Answer

We love your kids (your family Christmas cards make us the happiest!) but hope you understand our decision to make our ceremony and reception an adult-only event. If you're thinking of bringing the kids along to Boston and are wondering about child care options that evening please do reach out to either one of us and we'll be happy to help you and other parents coordinate child care at the Omni Parker house.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. Black tie optional. That means this is your chance to finally dress up again, for real! Dark suits or tuxes for the men. Floor length or elegant cocktail dresses, suits or jumpsuits, for the ladies.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! The bride and groom will be at the bar of The Last Hurrah on the ground level of the Parker House on Thursday evening at 9:30 PM and would love to see you there and welcome you to Boston! After the wedding reception we plan to keep the (after) party going around the corner at Scholar's Lounge! There will also be an early brunch the morning after the wedding, Saturday, starting at 9:30 AM. Please join us!
