Things To Do
Crete is Greece's largest island with tons to offer. Chania is the town closest to the venue, but with a rental car you could pop around to adjacent towns/sites 1-2 hours away. We researched and compiled a list of things to do while you are in Crete:
Sight-seeing/historical: Old Venetian Harbor, Lighthouse of Chania, Catholicon of the Venetian Monastery of St. Francis, and many more!
Dining: Consistently ranked among the top food cities in the world! Too many great restaurants to list, but you can't go wrong anywhere.
Beaches: Many local beaches, with others available 1-2 hours away such as Balos Lagoon (turquoise blue water) and Elafonissi Beach (pink sand beach) among others.
Hikes: Samaria Gorge (1 hour drive from Chania, 16km hike, one of Europe's longest!), Imbros Gorge (1 hour drive from chania, 8km hike)
Other: Olive oil tree of vouves tasting (the world's oldest olive oil tree!), other olive oil tastings, many wineries for tastings, or just exploring downtown
