How We Met

May 17, 2017

We met the way a lot of couples meet these days, on the world wide web! I mean I guess if an app counts as the internet. And boy are we grateful! William liked that Wendy mentioned talking in silly accents on her profile, and William seemed like the perfect gentleman to Wendy. To this day, when we ask ourselves..."How did we get so lucky, how did this happen?" Williams response is always, "Because you wrote back!" We met up at our local Starbucks and the rest is history!

The Proposal

March 15, 2020

'Twas the Ides of March, and in the face of ill luck I said "DAMN the Consequences!" Okay, but really... Wendy and William had talked for a while about getting married, and in August of 2019 Wendy told William (in the most meaningful and romantic way possible) that she would say yes if he asked. In true William fashion it took another 7 months to finally nail down a plan! He flew her to Hawaii under false pretenses (the cover was a 'business trip') and took her to Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu! Neither one of them had been there before... the perfect place for a new start! William snuck out to find the perfect spot while Wendy got her nails did. William later took Wendy to the spot he found and asked if he could take a selfie of the two of them. It was beautiful, just a little rain, a private beach with no one around, the waves lapping at our feet. William put his phone against some coral and started a video... he walked back to Wendy counting down from 5 (as though it really were a selfie) and at 1 he said "Just Kidding." He turned to her and told her how much he loved her and all the wonderful things about her that he admired so much (this part took a while because there are so many). He then got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. Wendy sank down and they hugged (and kissed) in the waves. As he put the ring on her finger the sun broke through the clouds, the rain stopped, and a rainbow appeared above them. It was as if the Universe itself had given its blessing. Also, at some point in there she did say "YES" and there are no backsies!
