Disneyland Resort
15 miles (~18 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Nick and Katie are annual passholders and plan on being at the parks on Friday, April 25, 2025 (day before wedding). Let us know when you are going and please reach out for any tips. Note: As of November 7, 2024, you need to purchase a ticket AND make a reservation for Disneyland/California Adventure.
Knott's Berry Farm
21 miles (~28 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Great theme park for both kids and adults. Knott’s Berry Fame has the absolute best food we’ve ever had at a theme park. It has a similar feel to Hershey Park.
Huntington Beach
21 miles (~11.9 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Huntington Beach is nicknamed “Surf City USA" because of its history and culture of surfing. Many surfing competitions are held there. We would highly recommend you eat at Duke’s Huntington Beach.
Newport Harbor Boat Rentals
10.7 miles (~20 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Affordable hour or 2 hour rentals of boats called “Duffys” that you drive yourself. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks.
Newport Beach/Balboa Island
10.7 miles (~20 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Great beach community to visit. The sitcom “Arrested Development” is partially set on Balboa Island, where the family-owned frozen banana stand is located.
The Queen Mary
30 miles (~33 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine RMS Queen Mary is a retired British ocean liner that operated primarily on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line and helped during WWII. It is permanently moored in Long Beach as a tourist attraction, hotel, museum and event facility. There are many tours to take, including a paranormal ship tour.
Battleship USS Iowa Museum
35 miles (~36 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine This battleship was originally commissioned in 1943, and served during World War II, the Korean War, and through the Cold War. Great ship museum.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood
52 miles (~1 hour 3 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine The Warner Bros. Studios Tour in Burbank was the first job Katie had when she moved to California and ended up working on a daytime talk show after in one of the soundstages. Warner Bros. has countless film and television titles to showcase backlots, props, picture cars, costumes, etc like: Friends, Gilmore Girls, The Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter films, Batman/DC Comics. Feel free to ask Katie any questions.
Universal Studios Hollywood
49 miles (~1 hour 3 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine Universal Studios Hollywood is a theme park next to a working movie lot - Katie works in the corporate offices for Universal Pictures on the lot. The Studio Tram Tour is a must during your visit to see all the backlots and the Waterworld Stunt Show - another summer job Katie had as a Stage Manager.
Paramount Pictures Studio Tour
46.5 miles (~1 hour 3 minutes away) from the AC Hotel Irvine The Paramount Pictures Studio Tour is the only studio tour located in actual Hollywood. It’s very similar to the Warner Bros. tour model but a smaller lot. One half of the lot was RKO Pictures and then Desilu (Lucy and Desi’s studio).
