Are kids allowed to the events?
Answer
As a reminder, the Reception and Mels will be ADULTS ONLY. As much as we love kids, we are respectfully asking all guests to leave little ones at home. We have decided to make our Big Day an adults-only event.

Can I bring an extra guest?

NO, we are ONLY ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE INVITED GUEST due to limited capacity and seating.

When is the RSVP due date?

We are kindly asking all guests to RSVP by SATURDAY JUNE 1st, 2024.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
The East Bay climate towards the end of summer typically has sunny and dry weather, making it a great time to visit Oakland - High temperatures reaching mid-70s during the day and as low as 60 degrees at night.

What are the lodging accommodations
Answer
We have provided options for hotel bookings in the travel section of our website. If you're staying at one of the recommended hotels we ask that you use our wedding hotel block code for a lower rate. Otherwise, the Bay offers Airbnb.

What dates should I book my stay for?
Answer
We Recommend coming in on Friday August 30th and leaving on Monday September 2nd. Also, keep in mind, Monday is a holiday - Labor day!

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?
Answer
For the Wedding Ceremony, there is a parking garage attached to the church campus. However, for the Wedding Reception, there is limited space available in the reception parking lot. We encourage the majority of our guests to request Lyft/Uber or carpool.
Question
What do I wear for the Mels?
Answer
The Mels is an Ethiopian traditional celebration for the day after the wedding. Formal Ethiopian garbs are encouraged, however, if not accessible cocktail attire is acceptable too! We also happily welcome cultural attire from your respective country.
