After connecting through mutual friends, Erika and John met for the first time at Nightshift Brewery in July of 2020. After a few hours of beers, laughs, and a walk along the Charles River, the couple enjoyed ice cream while watching the sun set behind the Longfellow Bridge. John and Erika began spending time together every weekend, and the rest is history. They like to spend their free time cooking new recipes, exploring local breweries, planning their next travel adventures, and are looking forward to their future together as a married couple!

John brought the ring on a Rogers family vacation in Bonita Springs, Florida. After spending two full days holding onto the ring in secret, John had time alone with Erika's father to ask permission for her hand in marriage after a fun morning on the beach, swimming with the fish and finding beautiful seashells buried in the sand. While Erika did not make it easy to get her alone, insisting on bringing her sister to the beach for sunset (and then almost missing the sunset), John was able to get Erika to Barefoot Beach on the evening of 4/22/22. They found a secluded spot on the beach to watch the sky transform into pink and orange hues, and that is when John popped the question! After a minute of surprise and great happiness, Erika said YES!
